How Does A Seesaw Work

W.A.L.T = Explain

A seesaw is a playground object that kids usually play on.

First you need two people that are about the same weight.

Then the two people need to sit on a seat each.

After that the person who is on the ground needs to bend his/her knees and push up.

This is because so they can start the seesaw to go up and down.

Finally slow the seesaw down and get off so you can go and have fun on another playground object like a slide or a swing.

We hope you enjoyed playing on the seesaw.

Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing

This " harness " feels weird. Is that how it's supposed to feel??? Yes it is my big buddy said. If your wondering what I am talking about then stop wondering because I am about to tell you. A week ago room 19 went rock climbing at Karamu High School. I don't really know why we went rock climbing but I have heard that Mrs Hardaker won in the teachers game of paper scissors rock. Anyways at our rock climbing session I have learnt how to put a harness and fasten it so that it doesn't fall of while your climbing the wall. As I said at the beginning about my big buddies, My big buddies names were: Arica and Charlot. The big buddies helped up with our hardness and taught us how to climb the wall. Everybody in room 19 had either 1 or 2 buddies. Me a Caitlin were the lucky ones to get two buddies. At the rock climbing room ( which was a basket ball court ) There were two activities set up for us. The first activity me and Caitlin and our buddies went to was the "push and pull". In the push and pull activity one kid ( Which was me ) was working the rope and Caitlin was the one who was getting pulled by me. I was pushing the rope with one hand and pulling it with one hand. When I was pulling the rope I had to take it to my bum and then push it back up which made Caitlin move forward and backwards. After that we went to the second activity. The second activity was ROCK CLIMBING!!! When you are going to rock climb it i important that your harness is secured nice and tight so that is doesn't fall of while your climbing. Caitlin climbed first and she didn't go very high but she did her best and that's all that matters. After her turn was me and I can not explain to you of how nervous I was at that time because all I could think of was " WHAT IF MY HARNESS BROKE AND I FELL OF THE HARD ROCK SOLID FLOOR"!!!! But as I was climbing my big buddies and Caitlin were encouraging me so much that I forgot all about falling. I did not go very high at all but I tried and that's all that matters. After everyone had, had a go at all  the activity's it was time to back to school and write all about our adventure.

I hope that you enjoyed reading all about Room 19's Rock Climbing adventure. Please comment if you enjoyed reading it.

Ryleigh's Bunny

Today the 19th of March, Ryleigh brought her bunny into school and I was so amazed because she is only 4 weeks old!!!! Her name is Sparkle and she is the 2nd most ( I am the most ) adorable thing I have ever seen. Sparkle is going to go back home at lunch so everybody is making the most of it to hold her and play with her.

Here are some picture of Sparkle, Ryleigh and Nikita.

I-Proud

 I-Proud

In room 19, We have been doing some awesome art with Mrs Hardaker! The art that we have been doing is called "I-Proud". If you are wandering what I am talking about, Stop thinking because I am going to show you a few pictures of room 19's I-Proud art!!!!!

The Pictures

Making The Art!!!

Firstly, we were told by Mrs Hardaker that we going to do art. The art was I-Proud. Every member of room 19 were confused at first. Moments later we were told what I-Proud was. What it is, is that on a coloured sheet of paper you need to have a pic of yourself. The pic needs to be just under the Parkvale School logo on your t-shirt, All the way to the top of your head. When we had taken the pic, we were told to send the picture to Mrs Hardaker, Mrs.H would print it out and give it to us. After we had been given the photo, We chose a colored sheet of paper out of: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and lastly Light and Dark Blue. As you can see in the pictures above, I chose light blue. After that you needed a glue-stick. The glue-stick was necessary because on the sheet of paper you had to stick on the pic of yourself, After you had cut it out of course. Once that was done it was time for the menu button, [ You can see it in the pictures above.] Which would go underneath the pic of yourself. Afterwards Mrs.H curved the corners so that it would look a bit more fancy!!!!

And there you have it!
I-Proud art!!!

What The Art Meant.
The art was called I-Proud because, The menu button underneath the photo was there because on an iPod you can tune the music however you want it to be. So if we put our picture on top of the iPod menu button instead of the screen, It would look like that your pic is the screen and the menu button together would look like an iPod. The menu button is there so....

" WE CAN TUNE OURSELVES INTO A GREAT YEAR".

With the menu button you could pretend to press the play button and tune yourself into a great year!!!

My Emotion LOVE Poem

WALT explore a variety of poetry structure and language features to be able to create our own creative poems.

This is my emotive poem.

Room 19 made these emotion poems on Valentines day. Most of the class did love poems and that included me. We could choose to decorate it however we wanted to. I choose to decorate it by writing it in red and putting red hearts above the poem and below the poem. I decided to use creative words like instead of using big I used HUGE and so on. I hope you enjoy reading my emotion LOVE POEM. If you did please comment.

LOVE

Love smells like candles melting away
Love looks like a couple deep down in love
Love feels like one huge warm hug
Love tastes like a chocolate rose
Love sounds like two little love birds have a smooch!!!!
Love is the color of the love hearts down below… RED!!!

Anubis: The Egypt God Of Final Judgement

Anubis: The God Of Final Judgement

In room 20 we have been learning about Ancient Egypt. Our class is trying their best to become Ancient Egypt experts. The only way we could become Ancient Egypt experts was to learn about what they did in Egypt and to add some colour. That means we had a chance to do art.

My art is to do with Ancient Egypt Gods. My Gods name is: ANUBIS. He is the God of          "FINAL JUDGEMENT."

Here is a website to show some of the Egyptian art that room 20 has been doing. Click here to go on to that website. http://art-educ4kids.weebly.com/egyptian-art.html.

This is a photo of my God art and the real one.
